SENSE ACTING SESSION

- A PORTAL TO THE SENSES

A man with short dark hair and a light beard is receiving a vaccination or injection in his upper arm from a healthcare professional with a darker complexion, bald head, and wearing earphones.

Founded over a decade ago by Obiekwe Ogugua aka Chris Obi, Sense Acting Session is a school born on one principle: the transmission of sensation.

Rooted in the belief that storytelling is a sensory art, the practice explores perception through breath, body, and instinct.

Drawing from Stanislavski, Meisner, Susan Batson and beyond, its focus lies in one universal aim - to evoke a truthful response by stimulating the senses.

Through character work, movement, and voice, Sense Acting trains actors to connect deeply to their own humanity - and in doing so, to that of their characters. The approach begins with the body, breath, and primal impulse - asking not just how we move or speak, but why, and what sensation it leaves behind.

This approach to storytelling is at the heart of STRAITGATE PRODUCTIONS - creating stories and supporting actors who can express them - exploring the unbound possibilities of cinema, culture and storytelling combined.
